On Friday, March 11, 2011, the Sendai earthquake and tsunami shook the coast of Japan, devastating the country. The death toll is climbing and thousands are still missing amidst the destruction. With the aftershocks now subsiding, the people of Japan are starting to see the extent of the damage and need help. Several AMAHits Artists have come together to donate their songs to help raise funds. 100% of the proceeds from the songs will go directly to the Red Cross to assist in the relief efforts in Japan.

Congratulations to J’anelle Avery who was named “Best Unsigned Artist” during Sundays Bay Area Spotlight Awards presented by the Black Music Association and Academy of America. J’anelle all over the radio!
J’anelle Avery is getting mad love all across the world right now! Her newest single “Bad Money” was played live on the radio in Sacramento during The Home Grown Soul Show last Sunday on V101.1FM. In addition to radio play, J’anelle has been doing quite a few interviews lately and has another coming up this week for the Brely Show on 102.5 FM Urban Soul Radio. The interview will air Wednesday Feb 2, 7-9pm PST. Be sure to tune in and show J’anelle your support!

We proudly announced late last year that J’anelle Avery was nominated for two Bay Area Spotlight awards. Well now J’anelle has been chosen as a special guest and will be performing live at the awards ceremony this year! Check out the flyer below!!

107.5 WDEP Radio is a privately owned and funded radio station dedicated to playing music and spoken word by independent music and spoken word artists. The Indie Artist Spotlight show, hosted by Da Educated Poet and broadcast live from Minnesota, features interviews with some of the hottest Independent artists in the game. J’anelle Avery was originally featured as the first WDEP spotlight artist in March of 2010, and debuted her single Bad Money on the show last month on December 4.
